How To Clean A DVD

DVDs today have a wide range of functions. DVDs can be used to watch and burn movies, to playing your favorite computer games and to use to store files on your computer. There will come a time when your favorite DVD will become dirty and not play properly. Instead of just tossing your DVD, try these methods to clean your DVD.

Take your DVD and start in the center of the DVD and clean to the edge. Whatever you do, do not clean your DVD by rubbing it in a circle. This will cause damage to your DVD.

Do not use your favorite shirt or a paper towel to clean your DVD. Try instead using a soft cloth or a cloth designed for cleaning DVDs. These clothes are designed to prevent damage to DVDs.

For cleaning use a mixture of rubbing alcohol and water. The method is one part rubbing alcohol and one part water. This mixture is great because it will clean your DVD and leave no residue.

If you do not have rubbing alcoholic available, then use household glass cleaner. Spray lightly; do not drown your DVD with glass cleaner.

If possible, try not to touch the actual surface of your DVD. You are trying to clean your DVDs, not leave your fingerprints on the disk.

Make you sure you give yourself plenty of time to clean your DVDs. This is not the time to hurry up and finish.
